One item you didn't know you needed
I'll start by saying that, I don't know what has gone into headlight technology in the last few years but if your on the road you've probably noticed
That things are pretty serious now, especially if your on the receiving end.
If you work in the headlight R&D department, go on vacation already, you did it, please stop improving these things
If your like me and spend a decent amount of time on the road, especially at night, you are probably sick and tired of starring down an endless stream of lights pointed in your direction.
For one it doesn't seems very natural, Your eyes that were built to identify berries weren't design for this
You know its hard to see what's in front of you when your at the receiving end of these things
Is that Jesus and his twin brother coming down the road?
NO
Its the all new 2025 Light Cannon now with all wheel drive.
Now I get it, I'm sure these headlights are great from the operators point of view, I actually want to upgrade my old vehicles for better vision at night.
However being on the receiving end of these things I'd say its safe to say it may be a good idea to adapt.
I don't need a study to tell me starring at piercing bright lights for a prolonged period of time on a regular basis may lead to issues with vision later on.
So I'm going say it might be a good idea to invest in some PPE
Which I why I picked up a pair of glasses for driving at night, and after about a year of using them at night, I can tell you that they do make a difference.
My eyes are much less tired and feel less strained when I get home, the difference is almost like riding a motorcycle with ear plugs as far as my energy levels are concerned after my commute.
And I can see much better when I'm driving, there's no more
"Well, I hope there's nothing in front of me" while I'm cruising down a back road after dark and someone is coming towards me with these new and improved headlights and the frontend of my car will live to see another day.
Even Bambi will be thrilled, I use these now.
You get the idea.
Now, there are a bunch of different types of glasses made for driving at night, as you can imagine. Get whatever style you want, but I do really recommend getting a pair and tossing them in your glove box.
And while your shopping for eye protection, you may want to pick up blue light blocking glasses if you are spend a considerable amount of time in front of screens.
Either way don't be a dumb dumb.
Protect your vison.
