Who runs this place?

This Guy

Ah, who's the mastermind behind this operation, you ask? Well, that would be me – Mark, at your service. I've always been one to dive headfirst into new adventures, whether it's exploring new places, ripping around on motorcycles, hiking mountains, or taking on different new projects. With time, I've amassed quite the collection of gear and honed my discerning eye for what's worth its weight in gold and what's just dead weight on my adventures and in daily life.  So what's the point of this little venture? To school my audience on the art of savvy shopping, shedding light on why I splurge on certain items while scrimping on others and I’ll also be sharing some of my experiences I had over the years and what I’ve learned.

Stopping in Death Valley

Credentials, you ask?  A good 15 years of tramping through the White Mountains, a plethora of motorcycle trips, including a four-month solo odyssey circumnavigating the good ol' US of A. From weekend road-tripping to full-blown nomadic living out of a backpack, I've done quite a bit over the years. And let's not forget the mundane joys of everyday life – because being organized for your daily life is just as crucial as prepping for your next grand adventure. Here's hoping my insights are not only informative for planning your next adventure but help you with your day to day, squeeze more life out of life.

As a connoisseur of quality goods and cheap tricks that streamline my existence, be it gear, clothing or everyday objects, if it enhances my life, count me in. With all that being said I don’t want this project to convince you to buy things you don’t really need, but rather offer my insight into things that offer more utility for your dollar or next adventure. Cutting the clutter, and focusing on function and utility. But we'll delve into those gems in due time.

Day I left for my US road trip.

Essentially, I'll be pulling back the curtain on my modus operandi. After years of gallivanting and working in between adventures , I've picked up a thing or two about preparation, planning, and packing, and how these skills seamlessly spill over into everyday life. Plus, I'm keen to shine a spotlight on products and companies that have earned my seal of approval. And let's not forget about my bag of budget-friendly tricks, guaranteed to stretch your dollar, Oh, and expect a healthy serving of tales from the road, both past and future, to keep things interesting and hopefully inspire you to plan your next trip or just get a little more out of life.

Some of my gear from over the years.

As for the products in the spotlight? Anything and everything that's weathered the storm alongside me whether it be hiking and camping gear fit for both civilized campgrounds  and rugged enough for the wilderness, motorcycle gear for those short hops and epic journeys, attire that laughs in the face of the elements, and any odds and ends that keep my day-to-day running smoothly or more effectively. I’m going to do my best to showcase things that are just plain excellent at what they were designed for, possibly some unexpected uses, and how everyday things may have more use than you’d imagine. If it's something  that'll improve a trip or just make my day to day easier to manage then I’ll do my best to showcase and explain why I’ll like it, what I use it for, and why you may want one.

Day 2 of a hiking trip

Now, why am I subjecting myself to this delightful endeavor, you ask? Well, upon my return from that epic motorcycle voyage across the States, I felt a desire to share my exploits and hopefully ignite a spark of wanderlust in others. And after years of spectating the dark arts of online marketing, I figured, why not give this a whirl? My hope is that the tales I spin entertain and inspire you to embark on your own escapades, or just think outside the box, while the products and services I champion prove as invaluable to you as they have to me.
