Now I don't want to just focus on hiking gear on this blog so I going to switch it up a bit.

Although this is something you could definetly bring with you on a hike if you really wanted to.

But,

I really want to cover gear and products that are also great for everyday live and if they can be used on a trip into the wilderness and some other type of adventure then even better.

So what am I going to blabble about today, you ask?

Power bricks

Its 2025, and if you don't have one of these I really don't now why.

They a just incredibly handy, for example I woke up this morning packed up my stuff to go to the coffee shop to write this post, get in my car and the battery is dead. Luckily I had my handy dandy Noco Power brick in my bag.

Dead battery, no problem

No calling AAA

No looking for jumper cables

No needing another car to jump mine

Just a handy block of magic bringing my car back to life.

And you know what I did next? After my little wagon roared to life, I plugged in into my 12V socket so I could top off the charge I while I was driving.

Later

I was out an about working on my laptop my battery was getting low and I was unlucky enough to get a seat with no power outlet a busy cafe. Luckily I had my Noco Power block  and I was able to continue to work uninterrupted.

Now I'm not going to just keep throwing examples of why these things are useful, I sure you can imagine how much it would suck to need a jump on a road trip when there isn't anyone around on even more annoying you are in a parking lot full of cars and no one has jumper cables. Now your waiting for a service truck...hopefully its not the middle of winter.

You get the Idea, even if you don't drive these are really great to have on hand for your devices, going to work on your laptop and having the battery die is wicked annoying.

These are also super useful if you loose power, a lot of them even come with a flashlight build it.

Something you will want to look into is the power output, there are a bunch of different sizes so that is something you'll want to look into for your specific use case

Are you just using it for your devices?

Or are you jump starting a plow truck in the middle of winter?

A lot of these bricks can do both but you need to figure out how much output you might need, depending on your situation.

I have the NOCO 1000amp brick, it works fine for my uses.

If your a contractor with a large work truck you or if you just want a longer battery life you may want to get a larger brick.
